Hosting A Website

If you want to build a website you need to have a computer that is connected to the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This need to be a special kind of computer called a server.

This server must run special software in order to keep it connected to the internet and so that it can “serve” your webpages to visitors.

The server has special software for hosting the websites and also has advanced security to stop hackers from attacking your site and changing it or defacing it.

Once you have a domain name you can then start to look for a website host (I recommend this company and have a special price of just $1 to try it out) However there are many different companies that can host web sites.

Once you have a hosting account you can then being to build your website with WordPress or using HTML (although WordPress is the recommended solution.)

Once you become familiar with hosting a website you can turn this into a small business and host websites for other users (this is something I do.)

Reseller hosting accounts

In order to do this you must get a hosting reseller account. In essence you are going to become a hosting company yourself (without the expense of buying servers or needing to have too much of a technical knowledge.)

The beauty of this business is that once you get a customer they will stay with you for years so it truly is recurring yearly income.  This is one business that I have been running nearly hands free for the last 10 years.
